Birds of a Feather Submissions
Based on feedback SIGGRAPH has received from attendees, criteria to participate as a Birds of a Feather session has been revised. The goal is to return to the original intent of Birds of a Feather and that is: graphics-related, attendee-organized, informational discussions of shared interests, goals, technologies and/or backgrounds. The key word is “discussion.” Attendees gather to discuss a topic, not listen to presentations.
To be considered, Birds of a Feather sessions must be:
- Related to computer graphics or interactive techniques
- Open to all registered SIGGRAPH 2017 attendees
- Non-commercial in nature (topics specific to one commercial product or company are not allowed)
- Free of recruitment, sales, product tutorials or company promotion
- Free of charge
All Birds of a Feather requests are reviewed for approval. Exceptions may be made for reunion-type or industry non-profit groups regarding open attendance and charging.
There will also be an on-site sign up board and rooms available for topics which pop-up as the result of a presentation, general discussion or topic deemed of interest.
