Emerging Technologies Submissions
Emerging Technologies presents novel, innovative, and surprising systems that advance human-human, human-computer, and computer-computer interaction. Projects accepted for Emerging Technologies are best experienced in person and involve either new technology or a novel use of existing technology. Submissions are encouraged from many fields, including displays, robotics, input devices, interaction techniques, computer vision, sensors, audio, speech, biometrics, wearable computing, data and scientific visualization, biotechnology, collaborative environments, design, health and wellness, augmented humans, and more.
There is no specific Emerging Technologies theme for 2017. We believe that sometimes the most brilliant discoveries and valuable ideas happen where we least expect them. If you're creating something that you KNOW is cool but you're unsure how related it is to computer graphics and interactive techniques, you should definitely submit it! We're looking for those "WOW" moments that SIGGRAPH attendees will inevitably have after experiencing your technology, even though they weren't sure what they were looking at on first approach.

Experience Presentations
We are encouraging submitters to consider submitting proposals for Experience Presentations to be presented in the Emerging Technologies venue. If you would like to give an Experience Presentation, please check the box for: "Experience Presentation". Plan for a 10- to 15-minute presentation plus a five-minute question-and-answer period. Giving an Experience Presentation is NOT a requirement for acceptance in Emerging Technologies.
